The recap
Pittsburgh turned this one into a track meet and Mason Heintschel was the whole show, carving up Miami for 453 yards and seven touchdowns through the air. The RedHawks had no answer once the passing game got humming, and after David McComb hit Damarion Witten on a 75-yard strike to make it 14-28, the roof caved in — Pitt reeled off 31 unanswered and never looked back.
Cataurus Hicks and a rotating cast of receivers took turns finding the end zone while the defense choked Miami out. By the fourth it was garbage time, and the 59-14 final flattered nobody wearing red.
