Washington MysticsvsToronto Tempo
WSH 79/TOR 62
Things to say
Washington beat Toronto 79-62 on the road at Coca-Cola Coliseum.
01
opener
Mystics went into Toronto and took care of business, 79-62. Never really close in the second half. Washington just controlled the paint all night.
02
key player
Kiki Iriafen was an absolute problem — 25 and 14. She ate them up inside, Toronto had no answer for her.
03
hot take
Toronto scoring 62 at home is rough. The expansion Tempo can't put up a fight like that and expect anybody to buy tickets.
04
deep cut
Marina Mabrey led Toronto with 3 assists. Three. When your point guard's dishing that few, you never got the offense going.
05
exit
Anyway, Mystics are over .500 now — curious to see if they can keep it rolling next game.
The recap
Washington rolled into Toronto and handled business, 79-62, never really letting the Tempo hang around. Kiki Iriafen was the whole show for the Mystics, dropping 25 and grabbing 14 boards for a double-double that ate Toronto up in the paint all night.
The Tempo just couldn't buy a bucket, getting stuck at 62 with Julie Allemand's 15 the only thing keeping it respectable. Toronto takes the L and drops to 10-14 while Washington keeps climbing.
