Northwestern State DemonsvsLouisiana Tech Bulldogs
NWST 6/LT 80
Things to say
Louisiana Tech blew the doors off Northwestern State 80-6 at Joe Aillet Stadium.
01
opener
Man, that wasn't a game, it was a scrimmage. Louisiana Tech hung 80 on Northwestern State. The starters were on the bench by halftime.
02
key player
Blake Baker barely broke a sweat. 10-of-14, 232 and three touchdowns, and he sat the whole second half.
03
hot take
Honestly the backup, Trey Kukuk, was the story. He ran it and then threw two touchdowns himself. When your RB is tossing scores, it's over.
04
deep cut
Latulas took a punt back 58 yards too. Special teams, offense, everybody ate. Northwestern State didn't get on the board until under a minute left.
05
exit
Nowhere to go but down for that schedule. Curious to see what Tech does against somebody with a pulse next week.
The recap
This wasn't a game, it was a demolition — Louisiana Tech hung 80 on Northwestern State and never took its foot off the gas. Blake Baker was surgical, going 10-of-14 for 232 and three scores before the backups even got warm, and Jalen Mickens torched them for 133 yards on just three grabs.
The Demons couldn't move the ball all night, managing a single garbage-time field goal with 47 seconds left to avoid the shutout. When your backup quarterback is throwing touchdown passes and your special teams are taking punts to the house, you know it got ugly early.
