Things to say

Nashville SC and New York City FC played to a 0-0 draw at Yankee Stadium.

01
opener
Nil-nil, and honestly it looked like it the whole way. Nobody could find the net. Two clean sheets, one point apiece, everybody goes home.
02
key player
Hany Mukhtar took five shots for Nashville and none of them went in. Guy's usually money, just an off night in front of goal.
03
hot take
A point at Yankee Stadium is fine for Nashville, but with the season they're having they should've gone for the throat. Playing not to lose caught up with them.
04
deep cut
Tayvon Gray had twelve defensive interventions for NYC. That's the guy who quietly kept it scoreless while nobody noticed.
05
exit
Nashville's still sitting pretty in the table, so no panic. Let's see what they do next weekend.
The recap

Nashville and New York City played to a nil-nil draw at Yankee Stadium, and honestly nobody did much to deserve better. It was a grind-it-out night with almost nothing at the business end of the field.

Hany Mukhtar was the one guy trying to make something happen with five shots, but he couldn't find the net, and Matt Freese only had to make three saves to keep his clean sheet. Nashville's the far better team on paper at 16-5-2, so a road point they'll take, but they left points on the table against a struggling home side.
