Man, that was a laugher. Nats put up 23 on the A's, it was over by the fourth. You almost felt bad for Oakland's pen.

The whole heart of the Washington order was locked in. Half that lineup left the yard and the OBP was just silly all night.

Look, 23 runs is fun, but that's an A's pitching staff problem, not some magic switch the Nats flipped. They're still a .500 club.

The recap
This one got out of hand in a hurry, and it never came back. Washington hung 23 on the Athletics, which is less a ballgame and more a batting practice session that someone forgot to end.
Every guy in the order left the yard or found a gap, and once they punched through, the manager was burning arms out of the pen just to get to the finish line. Nats climb back to .500 at 49-49; the A's just want to forget this one on the flight out.
