NC State WolfpackvsVirginia Cavaliers
NCSU 8/UVA 34
Things to say
Virginia beat NC State 34-8 at Scott Stadium to open the season.
01
opener
Yeah, UVA just handled NC State 34-8. It wasn't even close. Wolfpack couldn't move the ball all night.
02
key player
Beau Pribula was the whole show. 155 and two through the air, another 110 on the ground. Dude beat them with his legs and his arm.
03
hot take
Don't let the 8 fool you, that two-point conversion was garbage time. NC State's offense is a real problem this year.
04
deep cut
Popo Aguirre had 18 tackles for the Wolfpack. When your linebacker is that busy, your defense is on the field way too long.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if Pribula's for real when the schedule toughens up. Long season.
The recap
Virginia flat-out smothered NC State in Charlottesville, 34-8, and it wasn't that close. Beau Pribula was the whole show — 9-of-11 for 155 and two scores through the air, plus 110 on the ground — carving up the Wolfpack from the jump.
The game was basically over by halftime once Pribula hit Xavier Brown from 45 and Da'Shawn Martin from 47 on back-to-back drives to make it 24-0. NC State couldn't move the ball all night, and CJ Bailey's lone touchdown drive was pure garbage time.
