Things to say

Indiana beat North Texas 52-16 at home to open the season 1-0.

01
opener
Indiana just ran North Texas out of the building, 52-16. It was never close after the first quarter. Hoosiers looked like they were playing a different sport.
02
key player
Josh Hoover was surgical — 13 of 16 for 231 and four touchdowns. Barely broke a sweat and sat most of the second half.
03
hot take
Honestly North Texas moved the ball fine between the twenties, they just couldn't finish. Sixteen points hides how badly they got smashed.
04
deep cut
The backup running back Grant Wilson ripped off a 43-yard touchdown run in garbage time. When your third-stringer is housing it, you know it's over.
05
exit
Cupcake win though — let's see if it means anything once the Big Ten schedule shows up.
The recap

Indiana came out swinging and never let up, hanging 52 on North Texas behind a surgical day from Josh Hoover, who went 13-of-16 for 231 and four touchdowns without breaking a sweat. Charlie Becker hauled in two of those scores, and Turbo Richard punched in two more on the ground as the Hoosiers found the end zone from everywhere.

North Texas hung around early and even trimmed it to 16-31, but the defense couldn't get a stop and Indiana pulled away with a 21-point fourth quarter. Grant Wilson's 43-yard scamper was the exclamation point on a game that was over long before the clock hit zero.
