Baltimore OriolesvsSt. Louis Cardinals
BAL 13/STL 1
Things to say
The Orioles hammered the Cardinals 13-1 at Busch Stadium.
01
opener
Yeah, that one got ugly early. Baltimore just teed off — 13 to 1. Cardinals never had it, honestly.
02
key player
The heart of the O's order was locked in all night. When they're stacking hits like that, you're just trying to survive it.
03
hot take
St. Louis pitching's the problem, not the offense. You can't leave that many balls over the plate.
04
deep cut
And it's a getaway day, so the Cards basically emptied the pen in a game that was already gone. Rough spot for the manager.
05
exit
Anyway, at 66-67 the Cardinals gotta stop the bleeding fast — we'll see if they bounce back next series.
The recap
Baltimore came into Busch Stadium and turned a getaway day into batting practice, hanging 13 on the Cardinals in a 13-1 laugher. St.
Louis never got anything going — one run all afternoon tells you the bats stayed in the bag while the O's just kept the line moving. This one was over early once Baltimore's lineup got into St.
Louis pitching and refused to let up. Ugly ballgame if you're wearing red, but the Orioles will take a stress-free win every time.
