Baltimore OriolesvsCincinnati Reds
BAL 3/CIN 0
Things to say
The Orioles shut out the Reds 3-0 in Cincinnati to close out the series.
01
opener
Man, that was a quiet one for Cincy. Orioles took it 3-0. Baltimore's arms just had it working all afternoon at Great American.
02
key player
The O's staff was the story. Reds never got into anybody's stuff, put up a goose egg. That's a full-team shutout on the road, I'll take that every day.
03
hot take
Three runs shouldn't be enough to sweep a series, but when the bullpen doesn't blink, it is. Reds' bats are ice cold.
04
deep cut
Great American is a bandbox, balls fly out of there. Getting shut out in that yard? That tells you the heart of the order never showed up.
05
exit
Getaway day win for Baltimore, they head home with momentum. Reds gotta figure out that OBP before the next stand.
The recap
Baltimore went into Great American Ball Park and hung a shutout on Cincinnati, walking out with a clean 3-0 win on getaway day. Whoever the Orioles ran out there clearly got into his stuff, keeping the Reds' bats quiet all afternoon and never letting the heart of the order do any damage.
Three runs was all the O's needed once the pitching locked it down, and the bullpen slammed the door to seal the zero. Rough day for Cincinnati, who couldn't push a single run across at home.
