The recap
Rangers took down the Padres 9-7 at Globe Life in a slugfest that swung Texas's way late. San Diego jumped out swinging and had the Texas starter on the ropes early, but the manager went to the pen and the bullpen actually held the line long enough for the heart of the order to climb back in.
The turning point was a middle-innings rally where Texas chased the Padres starter and tagged the relievers for the lead. Not pretty pitching on either side, but Texas's bats carried it and they cashed it in at home.
