The Marlins jumped the Phillies 8-6 down in Miami on a getaway day, and this one had a scrappy feel from the jump. Philly's pitching couldn't keep the ball in the yard and Miami kept stacking crooked numbers, working good at-bats and grinding out traffic on the bases.
The Phillies clawed back to make it a two-run game, but the Marlins bullpen slammed the door and never let the heart of the order get comfortable. Sometimes the sub-.500 club just wants it more, and Miami stealing this from a playoff-hopeful Philly squad stings.
