The recap
Phillies snuck out of Petco with a 4-3 win on a getaway-day type game where every run mattered. Without a box score in front of me it sounds like a one-swing difference, the kind of night where somebody in the heart of the order left the yard late and the bullpen just had to nail down the door.
Padres drop to 31-23 but stay in decent shape; Philly claws back to 28-27 and probably feels like they stole one on the road. Classic West Coast late-night affair where if you blinked you missed the turning point.
