Pittsburgh PiratesvsToronto Blue Jays
PIT 2/TOR 6
Things to say
Blue Jays beat the Pirates 6-2 at Rogers Centre.
01
Jays took care of business at home, 6-2 over the Pirates. Felt like Toronto had their number from the jump. Pittsburgh never really got into their stuff.
02
key player
Whoever started for Toronto was dealing — pen barely had to work, and that's been their problem all year.
03
hot take
Pirates are gonna give that 26-25 record back fast if they keep wasting road trips like this.
04
deep cut
Rogers Centre with the roof situation always plays a little weird for visiting bats, and PIT looked like they noticed.
05
exit
Anyway — curious if Toronto can stack another one tomorrow or if this was just a getaway-day fluke.
The recap
Blue Jays handled the Pirates 6-2 at Rogers Centre, a tidy bounce-back that nudges Toronto closer to .500 while Pittsburgh slips back to it. Without a box score in front of me the turning point's fuzzy, but a four-run cushion in a low-scoring game usually means the Jays strung together a crooked number somewhere in the middle innings and the Pirates bullpen couldn't stop the bleeding.
Pittsburgh's still hanging around the playoff conversation at 26-25, so this one stings more for them than the scoreline suggests. Getaway-day baseball in Toronto, and the Jays took it.
