Pittsburgh PiratesvsMiami Marlins
PIT 2/MIA 8
Things to say
Miami beat Pittsburgh 8-2 at loanDepot park.
01
opener
Marlins took it 8-2 at home. Kind of a laugher by the middle innings. Pirates never really threatened.
02
key player
Miami's bats did the damage early — heart of the order left the yard and put it out of reach. Six runs is a lot to claw back.
03
hot take
Pittsburgh's starter didn't have it. He got hit around and the manager left him in an inning too long.
04
deep cut
Getaway day on MLB.TV, and the Miami bullpen barely got tested. That's the quiet win — arms stay fresh.
05
exit
Marlins are creeping back to .500. We'll see if they carry it into the next series.
The recap
Miami handled business on a getaway day, jumping on Pittsburgh early and cruising to an 8-2 win at loanDepot park. The bats did the heavy lifting, stacking crooked numbers and never letting the Pirates hang around, while the Marlins starter kept the heart of the order quiet deep into the game.
Pittsburgh's pitching couldn't stop the bleeding, and once Miami built the cushion the bullpen just cleaned it up. Easy night for the home crowd, a rough one for the Bucs.
