Texas RangersvsLos Angeles Angels
TEX 6/LAA 9
Things to say
Angels beat the Rangers 9-6 at Angel Stadium.
01
Angels took down Texas 9-6 last night. Halos finally put some runs on the board at home. Rangers bullpen just couldn't shut the door.
02
key player
Trout looked locked in again — middle of the order did all the damage. Guy still rakes when he's healthy.
03
hot take
Eighteen and thirty-four and they're still playing like this? Imagine if anyone in that rotation could go seven.
04
deep cut
Texas skipper went to the pen way too early. Once that starter was out, the heart of the Angels order left the yard on him.
05
exit
Anyway — getaway day tomorrow, we'll see if Texas can salvage one before they head out.
The recap
Angels finally broke through and put a nine-spot on the board to take down the Rangers 9-6 at the Big A. Texas hung around and made it interesting late, but the Halos offense kept the line moving and never let them get the tying run to the plate.
Felt like a game where the Rangers manager went to the pen a hair too early and the Angels' middle order made him pay. Nice little tonic for a club sitting at 18-34 — they'll take it any way they can get it.
