Texas RangersvsLos Angeles Angels
TEX 2/LAA 5
Things to say
The Angels beat the Rangers 5-2 at Angel Stadium.
01
opener
Angels took it 5-2. Halos actually looked alive at home for once. Rangers just never got their bats going.
02
key player
The heart of the Angels order did the damage — Trout's the guy who left the yard and flipped that game.
03
hot take
Texas is a .500 club playing like they've already packed it in. That lineup should never get shut down by a sub-.400 team.
04
deep cut
Getaway day, and the Angels pen slammed the door — that's the part nobody's talking about.
05
exit
Anyway, Rangers gotta bounce back or this road trip's a wash. Curious who they hand the ball to next.
The recap
The Angels took this one 5-2 over the Rangers at home, playing spoiler to a Texas club that's been hovering right around .500. LA jumped on Texas and never really looked back, riding a lead the bullpen protected the rest of the way.
For an Angels squad sitting at 47-74, this is the kind of night that ruins somebody else's week. Rangers offense went quiet when it mattered, and now they're back under .500 wondering where the bats went.
