Texas RangersvsMilwaukee Brewers
TEX 3/MIL 5
Things to say
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Texas Rangers 5-3 at American Family Field.
01
opener
Brewers took it 5-3 at home. Milwaukee just keeps winning games like this. They're 85-51 for a reason.
02
key player
The bullpen was the story again. Milwaukee's arms slammed the door late and never let Texas back into it.
03
hot take
Nobody's talking about the Brewers enough. That's the best record in baseball and it's basically a whisper.
04
deep cut
Texas is 66-70 and just kind of playing out the string. This was a getaway-day loss where you could feel the road team fold.
05
exit
Anyway, if Milwaukee keeps this up they've got the division locked. Curious what they do down the stretch.
The recap
Milwaukee kept rolling at home, taking this one 5-3 and pushing to a ridiculous 85-51. The Brewers' bats did enough against Texas and the bullpen slammed the door late to protect the two-run cushion.
Texas hung around at 3 but never got the big hit when it mattered, and a middling club at 66-70 just doesn't have the horses to steal one in that building. Getaway-day baseball, and the best team in the division looked the part.
