Tampa Bay slammed the door on Texas, 3-0, in a tidy little getaway-day shutout at the Trop. The Rays' staff carved up the heart of the Rangers order all night and never let anybody get comfortable in the box, and the bullpen slammed the door late to preserve the goose egg.
Three runs was all the offense needed with pitching like that. Texas drops to .500 and heads home with nothing to show for it.
