Tampa Bay RaysvsAthletics
TB 8/ATH 4
Things to say
The Rays beat the Athletics 8-4 in Sacramento to move to 74-46.
01
opener
Rays handled the A's, 8 to 4. Tampa's been red hot, and it showed. They just kept putting up crooked numbers.
02
key player
The heart of the Rays order did the damage, a couple guys left the yard. When those bats get going it's a long night for the other side.
03
hot take
Honestly the A's are just outclassed right now. Forty-seven and seventy-four tells you everything you need to know.
04
deep cut
The A's manager went to the pen too early and it bit him. Once that bullpen door swings open in Sacramento, forget it.
05
exit
Rays keep rolling like this, they're a problem come October. Anyway, we'll see if they carry it into the next one.
The recap
The Rays rolled into Sutter Health Park and made it look easy, hanging 8 on the A's to walk off with an 8-4 win on getaway day. Tampa Bay's bats got busy against the heart of the Athletics staff, and once they got the lead they never gave it back.
At 74-46 they're playing like the class of the league, while the A's dropped to 47-74 and just couldn't keep up. Not much drama here, just a good club doing good-club things.
