Tampa Bay RaysvsBaltimore Orioles
TB 3/BAL 1
Things to say
Tampa Bay beat Baltimore 3-1 at Camden Yards.
01
opener
Rays took it 3-1 in Baltimore. Classic pitcher's duel, nobody left the yard. Over before you knew it.
02
key player
Whoever the Rays ran out there was dealing. One run over the whole night, that's a WHIP you frame on the wall.
03
hot take
One run at Camden? The Orioles' heart of the order just went missing. That lineup's asleep.
04
deep cut
Tampa's bullpen slammed the door late. On a getaway day you take three runs and lock it down, and that's exactly what they did.
05
exit
Rays are 24 games over .500 now, they're rolling. Curious what they've got for the next one.
The recap
Rays grinded out a 3-1 win in Baltimore, the kind of tidy, low-scoring afternoon where pitching did all the talking. Tampa's arms kept the Orioles bats quiet all day, and three runs was plenty of cushion in a game that never really got loud.
Baltimore scratched across a single run but never got the big hit going with the heart of the order. Tampa Bay's now sitting pretty at 77-53 while the O's drop to 63-68 and keep sliding out of the picture.
