Tampa Bay RaysvsTexas Rangers
TB 7/TEX 6
Things to say
The Rays edged the Rangers 7-6 in Texas.
01
opener
Rays took it 7-6 down in Arlington. One-run game the whole way, came down to the last couple innings. Good road win for a team that's been rolling.
02
key player
Heart of the Rays order carried it — they just kept putting up crooked numbers. Whoever they threw out there, Texas couldn't slow it down.
03
hot take
Rangers pitching left too much over the plate at Globe Life. You can't do that against a lineup that patient.
04
deep cut
Rays are sitting at 84-57 now while Texas is under .500 at 70-72. That gap's real, this wasn't a fluke.
05
exit
Anyway, Tampa's built for October. Curious to see if they keep it up down the stretch.
The recap
The Rays snuck out of Globe Life with a 7-6 nail-biter, staying red-hot at 84-57 and looking every bit like a contender. Tampa Bay kept answering every time Texas clawed back, and it came down to the wire with just a single run separating them at the final out.
The Rangers had chances but couldn't quite get the big hit when they needed it, and now they're stuck below .500 at 70-72. Getaway day heartbreaker for Texas, another notch in the belt for a Rays club that just keeps winning the close ones.
