Red Bull New YorkvsSporting Kansas City
RBNY 2/SKC 1
Red Bull New York beat Sporting Kansas City 2-1 at Children's Mercy Park.
Red Bull New York went into Children's Mercy Park and walked out with a 2-1 win, and honestly it was Ethan Horvath who carried them — seven saves between the sticks, an absolute wall on a night Sporting threw everything at him. Kansas City actually had the run of play, with Calvin Harris peppering the goal and Lasse Berg Johnsen pulling strings in midfield, but they just could not beat Horvath when it mattered.
Jorge Ruvalcaba was the live wire up top for New York, matching Harris shot-for-shot and giving the away side enough cutting edge to nick it. Sporting drop to 3-2-9 and the wheels are wobbling; Red Bull keep climbing at 6-4-5.
