Red Bull New YorkvsSeattle Sounders FC
RBNY 0/SEA 0
Things to say
Seattle Sounders FC and Red Bull New York played to a 0-0 draw at Lumen Field.
01
opener
Nil-nil at Lumen, and honestly it earned it. Both keepers stood on their heads. Not a lot of goalmouth action, but a tense one.
02
key player
Ethan Horvath was the story for New York. Six saves and a clean sheet on the road. Steals a point by himself.
03
hot take
Seattle should be furious. Three shots from Joveljic and nothing to show. You're at home, you have to bury one of those.
04
deep cut
Watch Alex Roldan's night. Sixty-three accurate passes and eleven defensive stops. Dude was everywhere and still couldn't drag them to a goal.
05
exit
Both these teams are scrapping for a playoff spot, so every point matters. On to the next one.
The recap
Seattle and New York played to a nil-nil draw at Lumen Field, and if you like clean sheets, this was your night. Both keepers earned it: Ethan Horvath made six saves for New York and Andy Thomas turned away four for Seattle.
Dejan Joveljic led the Sounders with three shots but couldn't find the net, and nobody on either side could break the deadlock. A point apiece, and honestly a defensive slog more than a thriller.
