Free baseball out in Sacramento and the Red Sox found a way, breaking a 2-2 tie in the tenth and tacking on to steal it 4-2. This one was a grind — both bullpens hung zeros deep into the night before Boston finally cracked the code in extras and put a two-spot on the board.
The Athletics couldn't answer in the bottom half, and a getaway-day trip to the coast turns into a road win for the Sox. Chalk it up as one of those where nobody left the yard but the team that manufactured runs late walked away happy.
