Cincinnati RedsvsSan Francisco Giants
CIN 10/SF 9
Things to say
The Reds edged the Giants 10-9 at Oracle Park.
01
opener
Man, that Reds-Giants game was a slugfest. Ten to nine, back and forth the whole way. Cincy just barely held on at Oracle.
02
key player
The heart of the Reds order carried them. When you put up ten runs on the road, somebody's leaving the yard and driving in a bunch.
03
hot take
Giants bullpen blew it, straight up. You score nine at home and lose? That's on the pen, manager went to it way too early.
04
deep cut
Oracle Park usually plays huge, kills offense. Nineteen combined runs there is wild, that ballpark never gives up nine.
05
exit
Anyway, Reds are hanging around at 63-71. We'll see if they can keep it rolling in the next one.
The recap
Slugfest at Oracle Park, and the Reds outlasted the Giants 10-9 in a game where nobody's bullpen wanted to hold a lead. San Francisco kept clawing back, but Cincinnati's bats never stopped hammering — the heart of the order carried this one all night.
That's the kind of getaway-day win where you just try to score one more than the other guy, and the Reds did exactly that. Now sitting at 63-71, they'll take a wild ten-run shootout on the road any day.
