Wild one at Petco as the Padres edged the Rockies 8-7 in a slugfest that went right down to the wire. Both bullpens got knocked around, and San Diego kept answering every time Colorado clawed back into it.
The heart of the order carried the Friars all night, and that one-run cushion held up when it mattered. Rough finish for the Rockies, who left the yard enough to win most nights but couldn't get the last out to fall their way.
