Kansas City RoyalsvsTexas Rangers
KC 3/TEX 6
Things to say
Rangers beat the Royals 6-3 at Globe Life Field on Sunday.
01
opener
Rangers took care of business at home, 6-3 over Kansas City. Felt like Texas had control most of the way. Royals just couldn't string anything together.
02
key player
Texas's bats did the work in the middle innings — heart of the order finally looked like the heart of the order.
03
hot take
Royals are 22-37 and it's not bad luck anymore, that's just who they are this year.
04
deep cut
Getaway day in Arlington and the Royals manager went to the pen way too early — once that bullpen door opened, the game tilted.
05
exit
Anyway, Rangers are crawling back toward .500 — we'll see if they can keep it going on the next road trip.
The recap
Rangers took care of business at Globe Life and sent the Royals home 6-3 on a getaway day Sunday. Without a play-by-play in front of me the specifics are fuzzy, but Texas clearly got into Kansas City's pitching enough to put a crooked number on the board and the bullpen locked it down from there.
KC's been scuffling all year and that 22-37 mark tells the story — they just don't have the bats to keep up when they fall behind. Texas climbs back toward .500 and keeps the Royals buried in the basement.
