The recap
Royals went into Great American and walked out with a 5-2 win, which is the kind of result that nobody on the Cincinnati side wanted on a getaway-day type night. Kansas City's bats did just enough against the Reds staff, and once they got a couple of crooked numbers on the board the bullpen slammed the door.
Cincinnati's offense never really got going, stranding runners and never finding that one big swing to flip it. Royals are still ten games under, but a road win over a .500-ish club always plays in the clubhouse.
