New Orleans SaintsvsLos Angeles Rams
NO 0/LAR 34
Things to say
The Rams shut out the Saints 34-0 at SoFi Stadium.
01
opener
Rams put a 34-0 shutout on the Saints. New Orleans couldn't move the ball all night. Never really a game after the first quarter.
02
key player
Stetson Bennett ran for two scores and managed it fine — 19-of-31, 181 yards. Didn't need to do much, the defense handed him a lead.
03
hot take
Honestly the score flatters the Rams offense. That was the defense's game — Saints did all the losing themselves.
04
deep cut
Alex Cook took a pick 100 yards to the house. That's the kind of play that turns a blowout into a laugher.
05
exit
Saints are 0-2 and look lost. Long season coming in New Orleans — we'll see if Rattler's still the guy.
The recap
Rams handled their business at SoFi and pitched a shutout, riding a smashmouth ground game while Spencer Rattler and the Saints couldn't move the ball all night. Stetson Bennett IV didn't light up the box score through the air but punched in two rushing scores himself, and Jarquez Hunter added 68 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
The knockout blow came when Alex Cook took a pick 100 yards to the house to make it 27-0 — the defense didn't just bail them out, it did the scoring. New Orleans falls to 0-2 and gets blanked; LA cruises to 2-0 and covered easily.
