Real Salt LakevsColorado Rapids
RSL 0/COL 1
Things to say
Colorado Rapids beat Real Salt Lake 1-0 at home.
01
opener
Rapids grinded out a 1-0 win over Salt Lake. Not pretty, but they got the clean sheet and that's all that matters. Colorado's been solid at home all year.
02
key player
Rafael Navarro was the guy up top, four shots and constantly getting in behind. He's the reason Salt Lake's back line never got comfortable.
03
hot take
Honestly Salt Lake did nothing going forward. Two shots all night? You're not stealing points on the road playing that scared.
04
deep cut
Rob Holding had twelve defensive interventions off the back line. Dude was cleaning up everything, that's how you protect a one-goal lead.
05
exit
Anyway, Rapids keep climbing the West. Curious to see if they can keep this up down the stretch.
The recap
Colorado grinded out a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake at home, and it was as tight as the scoreline suggests. Rafael Navarro led the way up top with four shots and the Rapids did just enough to find the net once and make it hold up.
Rob Holding was a wall in the back with 12 defensive interventions, anchoring the clean sheet. RSL never really threatened, managing just a couple of shots all night, and they head home with nothing to show for it.
