San Diego FCvsOrlando City SC
SD 0/ORL 1
Things to say
Orlando City beat San Diego FC 1-0 at home for a clean sheet.
01
opener
Orlando took it 1-0. Not pretty, but they got the goal and locked it down. San Diego pushed but never really found the net.
02
key player
Griffin Dorsey was everywhere on defense, eight interventions. That's the guy who won them the game, not anybody up top.
03
hot take
Griezmann in MLS and he only put up three shots? You're paying for that name, you want more than that.
04
deep cut
San Diego's Manu Duah had 98 accurate passes and 14 defensive stops. Best player on the field and he was on the losing side.
05
exit
Crépeau bailed them out with a couple saves late. We'll see if that back line holds up next week.
The recap
Orlando City grinded out a 1-0 win over San Diego at home, and it was the kind of tight game where one goal was always going to settle it. Griezmann led the way up top, but the real story was the back line and Maxime Crépeau in goal locking down the clean sheet.
San Diego pushed but couldn't find the net, with Anders Dreyer's couple of looks amounting to nothing. Ugly, low-scoring, and exactly the sort of result that keeps Orlando climbing the table.
