Things to say

San José State beat Eastern Michigan 27-21 on the road at Rynearson Stadium.

01
opener
San José State grabbed it 27-21 at Eastern Michigan. Back and forth all night, lead changed a bunch. Spartans just had a little more in the tank late.
02
key player
Luke Weaver was the whole offense — 316 yards and three touchdowns. Dude was picking them apart.
03
hot take
EMU had no business losing at home. They couldn't finish drives and it cost them.
04
deep cut
Cooper Hoch quietly went for two scores, including a 40-yarder. And that Bryce Llewellyn fumble-recovery touchdown flipped the whole thing.
05
exit
Anyway, Spartans get their first road win — curious to see if they can build on it next week.
The recap

San José State walked into Rynearson and traded haymakers all night before pulling away late to win 27-21. Luke Weaver was the story, slinging it for 316 and three scores, and Cooper Hoch was his guy — two touchdowns, including a 40-yard dagger that flipped a 21-17 hole into a lead for good.

Eastern Michigan actually led on a Bryce Llewellyn fumble-recovery TD, but they couldn't answer once Weaver found Hoch deep, and a Trajan Sinatra field goal iced it. Jabari Bates grinding out 119 on the ground kept the Spartans ahead of the chains all night.
