Seattle Sounders FCvsFC Cincinnati
SEA 1/CIN 1
Things to say
FC Cincinnati and Seattle Sounders played to a 1-1 draw at TQL Stadium.
01
opener
Honestly a fair result, 1-1 the whole way. Cincy pushed but couldn't break them down at home. Point apiece and both sides probably take it.
02
key player
Andy Thomas in the Seattle goal was the story. Seven saves. He straight up stole a point on the road.
03
hot take
Cincinnati are too good at TQL to be dropping points to a road side. That's two dropped there, not one earned.
04
deep cut
Watch the kid Kossa-Rienzi for Seattle. Twelve defensive interventions AND three shots. He was everywhere.
05
exit
Long way to go in the East though. Ask me again after their next one.
The recap
Cincinnati and Seattle traded punches at TQL Stadium and walked away sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw. The real story was in goal for Seattle, where Andy Thomas stood on his head with seven saves to steal a point on the road.
Cincy pushed for a winner and Evander kept probing, but Chirila's 108 passes couldn't unlock that stubborn back line. A fair result on the night, and both sides will feel like this one slipped through their fingers.
