Los Angeles SparksvsMinnesota Lynx
LA 89/MIN 82
Things to say
The Sparks knocked off the league-best Lynx 89-82 on the road in Minnesota.
01
opener
Sparks went into Minnesota and took down the best team in the league. Twelve-and-eighteen team walks into Target Center and steals one. Nobody saw that coming.
02
key player
Rae Burrell dropped 17 to lead LA and looked like the calmest one on the floor. Kid's got buckets when it matters.
03
hot take
Minnesota's 25-7 record is a mirage if they're losing this one at home. Collier with only 6 dimes and no points to lead them? That's a bad night to have off.
04
deep cut
Erica Wheeler quietly ran the show with 9 assists. Nobody talks about her but she was orchestrating that whole upset.
05
exit
Anyway, let's see if the Lynx bounce back or if this is the start of a slide. Should be a fun stretch.
The recap
Big upset in Minneapolis — the 12-18 Sparks walked into Target Center and knocked off the 25-7 Lynx 89-82. LA didn't have a single guy go off, they just spread it around and hung tough with the best team in the league.
Rae Burrell led them with 17 and Erica Wheeler was dishing dimes all night with 9 assists. Olivia Miles balled out for Minnesota with 23 and 8 boards, but she couldn't get enough help and the Lynx took the L at home.
