Seattle StormvsNew York Liberty
SEA 86/NY 92
Things to say
New York Liberty beat the Seattle Storm 92-86 at Barclays Center.
01
opener
Liberty took care of business at home, 92-86. Never really felt in doubt. Storm hung around but New York had too much.
02
key player
Stewart went for 28 against her old team, of course she did. Ice in her veins in that building.
03
hot take
Honestly the Storm are cooked at 6-27, but nobody told the rookie.
04
deep cut
Malonga dropped 31 and 10 for Seattle in a loss, and Jonquel Jones quietly stuffed the sheet with 15 boards and 7 dimes.
05
exit
Liberty are rolling, I wanna see how they look against a real playoff team next.
The recap
Liberty handled business at home, holding off a scrappy Storm squad 92-86 to keep pace in the East. Breanna Stewart carried the load with 28 buckets, and Jonquel Jones was everywhere in the paint with a 15-rebound, 7-assist double-double.
Give Seattle credit though — rookie Dominique Malonga went off for 31 and 10 and damn near stole one on the road. Malonga's a problem, but New York had too much and Seattle took the L to drop to 6-27.
