Toronto TempovsPhoenix Mercury
TOR 69/PHX 101
Things to say
Phoenix beat Toronto 101-69 at home.
01
opener
Mercury absolutely ate Toronto up, 101-69. It was a laugher by halftime. The Tempo never had it.
02
key player
Alyssa Thomas ran the whole thing, 12 dimes and just picking them apart. Total clinic from her.
03
hot take
Fifteen points led Phoenix and they still won by 32. That tells you Toronto just couldn't buy a bucket.
04
deep cut
Natasha Mack quietly grabbed 8 boards and owned the paint. Nobody talks about her but she set the tone.
05
exit
Both these teams are way under .500, so I'll wait and see who they draw next.
The recap
Phoenix hung a 101-69 beatdown on Toronto and honestly it was over before it started. Nobody had to go for 30 because it was buckets by committee, with Shay Ciezki leading the way at 15 and Alyssa Thomas quietly stuffing the sheet with 12 dimes.
Isabelle Harrison did all she could for Toronto with a 16 and 10 double-double, but she got zero help and the Tempo just couldn't buy a bucket. A 32-point L is the kind that stings on the flight home.
