Detroit TigersvsMinnesota Twins
DET 1/MIN 11
Things to say
The Minnesota Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 11-1 at Target Field on Sunday.
01
opener
Twins just hammered Detroit 11-1. It was over early. The lineup was clicking top to bottom.
02
key player
The whole Twins order left the yard on Detroit. Eleven runs on a getaway day, they were seeing it big.
03
hot take
Detroit's rotation is running on fumes. That starter didn't have his stuff and the pen couldn't stop the bleeding.
04
deep cut
Both teams are under .500 sitting in the low-60s wins, so this was really just spoiler baseball in late August.
05
exit
Anyway, Twins take it easy here. Curious if Detroit can bounce back next series.
The recap
Minnesota took the Tigers behind the woodshed on a getaway day, hanging 11 on Detroit at Target Field and never letting it get interesting. This was over early — the Twins got into the Tigers' arm from the jump and the heart of the order kept the line moving all afternoon.
Detroit's lone run was window dressing in a game the bullpen inherited already buried. When you lose by ten, nobody covered themselves in glory, and the Tigers will happily flush this one before the flight out.
