Detroit TigersvsMinnesota Twins
DET 2/MIN 15
Things to say
The Twins hammered the Tigers 15-2 at Target Field to close out the series.
01
opener
Twins put up a 15-spot, it was over by the fifth. Detroit had nothing, their guy got knocked around early. Real getaway-day laugher.
02
key player
The whole heart of the order left the yard on them — when Minnesota's bats are barreling everything like that, no bullpen's saving you.
03
hot take
Both these teams are under .500 and playing out the string, so honestly? Doesn't mean a thing come October.
04
deep cut
Fifteen runs and it wasn't even a home-team thing — that's a lineup finally clicking, not just a hot night.
05
exit
Anyway, Detroit needs to just flush this one and worry about who they run out there next series.
The recap
Minnesota turned a getaway day into a laugher, hanging 15 on Detroit and never letting the Tigers breathe. The Twins swung it up and down the lineup — the heart of the order did the heavy lifting and there was plenty of leather-scorching contact left in the yard all afternoon.
Detroit's starter got knocked around early and the manager basically had to empty the pen just to survive, but by then it was a two-run afterthought. Blowouts like this don't need a turning point; Minnesota grabbed the wheel in the early innings and cruised to a 15-2 romp.
