Things to say

Chicago Fire FC beat Toronto FC 2-1 at Soldier Field.

01
opener
Fire took it 2-1 at Soldier Field. Toronto pushed late but couldn't get the equalizer. Decent night out for Chicago.
02
key player
Zinckernagel was all over it for the Fire, three shots and just causing problems every time he got on the ball.
03
hot take
Sargent had five shots and still nothing to show for it. Toronto's finishing is why they're sitting at 3-5-6.
04
deep cut
Jack Elliott put up 87 accurate passes from the back. Centerback basically ran the buildup all night.
05
exit
Anyway, Fire are starting to look like a real playoff side. Curious what they do next week.
The recap

Chicago Fire took care of business at Soldier Field, edging Toronto 2-1 to push their record to 8-2-4. Josh Sargent was a menace up top for Toronto with five shots, but Chris Brady came up with three big saves to keep the Fire in front.

Jack Elliott ran the show from the back with 87 accurate passes, dictating tempo and snuffing out anything Toronto tried to build. Solid three points at home against a Toronto side that's now sitting on 3-5-6 and looking shaky on the road.
