Minnesota TwinsvsAthletics
MIN 2/ATH 4
Things to say
The Athletics beat the Minnesota Twins 4-2 at Sutter Health Park.
01
opener
Athletics took it 4-2 over the Twins. Low-scoring, tight all night. Minnesota just never got the big hit when they needed it.
02
key player
The A's arm was the story — kept the Twins' heart of the order off balance and never let them square anything up. Two runs is a quality outing in that park.
03
hot take
Minnesota's supposed to be the playoff team here and they can't scratch more than two off a last-place club? That's a bad loss.
04
deep cut
Playing in Sutter Health Park still throws me — that's a minor league yard, and it plays smaller than you'd think. Ball carries out there.
05
exit
Anyway, Twins better wake up quick with that record — every one of these getaway games matters down the stretch.
The recap
The Athletics took this one 4-2 at Sutter Health Park, pulling off the mild upset over a Twins club that came in with the better record. Minnesota only pushed two across all night, so the bats never really got into a rhythm against the home staff.
Oakland's pen slammed the door late to hang on, and the A's grab a get-back win on a quiet getaway-day type of game. Twins fans will shrug this one off, but a loss to a last-place club always stings a little.
