Minnesota TwinsvsMilwaukee Brewers
MIN 3/MIL 4
Things to say
The Brewers beat the Twins 4-3 in 10 innings at American Family Field.
01
opener
Brewers walked it off in the tenth, 4-3. Twins hung around all night but Milwaukee found a way. Classic getaway-day nail-biter.
02
key player
Somebody in the heart of that Brewers order came through in extras — I'd credit whoever put the winning run across. That's a first-place team doing first-place things.
03
hot take
Twins are 58-61 and it shows. They can play with anybody for nine innings, but the good teams close it out and Minnesota just doesn't right now.
04
deep cut
Free baseball again — this thing went to the tenth. Both pens got stretched, and Milwaukee's just deeper down there.
05
exit
Anyway, at 74-44 the Brewers are cruising. Curious if they can keep it rolling through the rest of this series.
The recap
Extra innings at American Family Field, and the Brewers walked it off 4-3 to steal a getaway day from the Twins. Minnesota clawed their way to a 3-3 tie and forced the tenth, but the Milwaukee bullpen slammed the door and set the stage.
When the winning run crossed in the bottom of the tenth, that was ballgame. At 74-44, the Brewers just keep finding ways, while the Twins drop back under .500 and head home stinging.
