Minnesota TwinsvsChicago White Sox
MIN 2/CHW 15
Things to say
The White Sox blew out the Twins 15-2 at Rate Field on Wednesday.
01
opener
Man, that one got ugly early. White Sox put up fifteen on the Twins, just a total laugher. They were swinging like it was batting practice.
02
key player
The whole heart of the order was locked in — couldn't get them out all night. When the Sox are stacking crooked numbers like that, you know somebody left the yard a couple times.
03
hot take
Honestly the score flatters Chicago. They're still a .500 club at 28-27 — you don't fix a season in one blowout against a team that mailed it in.
04
deep cut
Twins manager hung the starter out to dry, then went to the pen way too early and it just bled runs. On a getaway day that's how a game snowballs to fifteen.
05
exit
Anyway, both these clubs are right around .500, so this AL Central scrap is far from over. Curious if Minnesota bounces back next series.
The recap
The White Sox absolutely teed off at Rate Field, hanging 15 on the Twins in a game that was over by the middle innings. Minnesota's starter never got into his stuff and the manager seemingly let him hang out there to soak up innings while the lineup kept the line moving.
The South Siders battered the ball up and down the order, and once they left the yard a couple times the Twins' bullpen just waved the white flag. A 15-2 laugher like this is the kind of getaway day where Chicago empties the bench and Minnesota can't get on the plane fast enough.
