Minnesota TwinsvsChicago White Sox
MIN 6/CHW 4
Things to say
The Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago White Sox 6-4 on the road at Rate Field.
01
opener
Twins took it 6-4 on the South Side. Good road win. They jumped on the Sox early and never really gave the lead back.
02
key player
Somebody in the heart of that Twins order carried them. You could tell the White Sox pitching just didn't have the stuff to put them away.
03
hot take
Honestly the Sox bullpen keeps costing them these. Manager went to the pen too early again and it bit him.
04
deep cut
Chicago's what, ten over .500? And still can't close out a getaway day at home. That's the part that should worry them.
05
exit
Twins are playing spoiler now, but I want to see if their bullpen holds up down the stretch. Next series tells you a lot.
The recap
Minnesota went into Rate Field on a getaway day and walked out with a 6-4 win, snapping a little breathing room into a season that's been slipping. The Twins got the bats going against Chicago and the road offense did just enough, keeping the White Sox chasing all afternoon.
Both clubs are playing out the string with sub-.500 records, but Minnesota grabbed this one and handed the South Siders another one they'd like back. Not a classic, but a clean win when you're the visitor and you leave with the two extra runs.
