Golden State ValkyriesvsNew York Liberty
GS 79/NY 60
Things to say
The Golden State Valkyries beat the New York Liberty 79-60 at Barclays Center.
01
opener
Valkyries went into Brooklyn and just took it, 79-60. Liberty never got going. It was a wire-to-wire beatdown.
02
key player
Zandalasini was the best player on the floor — 20 points, splashing from everywhere. Golden State's got a real problem on their hands, in a good way.
03
hot take
Liberty scoring 60 at home? That's a defense-optional night. They couldn't buy a bucket.
04
deep cut
Veronica Burton dropped 13 dimes and barely gets talked about. She ran an absolute clinic setting people up all night.
05
exit
Golden State's rolling at 28-11 — I'm keeping an eye on them heading into the stretch. Should be fun.
The recap
Golden State walked into Barclays and put on an absolute clinic, running the Liberty off their own floor 79-60. Cecilia Zandalasini was cooking all night for 20, and Veronica Burton ran the show with 13 dimes, picking New York apart every time down the court.
The Liberty just couldn't buy a bucket, stuck at 60 while Jonquel Jones did all she could with 18 and 7. Golden State's now sitting pretty at 28-11 and New York took the L at home.
