Golden State ValkyriesvsMinnesota Lynx
GS 80/MIN 66
Things to say
The Golden State Valkyries beat the Minnesota Lynx 80-66 on the road.
01
opener
Valkyries went into Minnesota and stole one, 80-66. The Lynx are the best team in the league and they just took the L at home. Golden State straight up ate them up.
02
key player
Cecilia Zandalasini was the best player on the floor, 18 to lead everybody. Girl was getting buckets all night.
03
hot take
Minnesota only put up 66. When the best record in the league can't buy a bucket, that's not an off night, that's a wake-up call.
04
deep cut
Veronica Burton quietly ran the show with 9 dimes. No flash, just kept feeding the splash.
05
exit
Lynx will bounce back, they always do. Curious to see who they draw next.
The recap
The Valkyries walked into Target Center and stunned the league-best Lynx 80-66, handing Minnesota a rare home L. Cecilia Zandalasini was the story with 18 buckets, and Veronica Burton ran the show with 9 dimes while the whole roster shared the wealth.
Minnesota just couldn't buy a bucket all night, stuck at 66 with Natasha Howard's 13 leading a group that never got going. Golden State smothered them defensively and turned a top-seed matchup into a statement road win.
