Golden State ValkyriesvsChicago Sky
GS 70/CHI 73
Things to say
Chicago Sky beat the Golden State Valkyries 73-70 at Wintrust Arena.
01
opener
Sky held on 73-70. Low-scoring, ugly, but they got it done at home. Golden State came in hot and still took the L.
02
key player
Natasha Cloud led the way with 17 and just ran the show late. Ice in her veins down the stretch.
03
hot take
Valkyries are 25-11 and let a 15-22 team push them around. That's a get-right game they gave away.
04
deep cut
Cardoso quietly grabbed 10 boards and ate them up in the paint. That's the difference in a three-point game.
05
exit
We'll see if Golden State bounces back next one, but that's a bad one to drop.
The recap
Chicago pulled off the upset, knocking off a Golden State squad that came in 25-11 and had no business dropping this one, 73-70. Natasha Cloud was the engine with 17, and Kamilla Cardoso ate them up on the glass with 10 boards to swing the possession battle.
The Valkyries never got going on offense — Laeticia Amihere led them with 16 but nobody else could buy a bucket. Chicago closed it out down the stretch and stole one they weren't supposed to.
