Golden State ValkyriesvsLos Angeles Sparks
GS 84/LA 78
Things to say
The Golden State Valkyries beat the Los Angeles Sparks 84-78 on the road at crypto.com Arena.
01
opener
Valkyries went into LA and took care of business, 84-78. Sparks kept it close but never really got over the hump. Golden State's just the better team right now, and it showed.
02
key player
Zandalasini led the way for GS with 15 and 7 boards. Quiet 15, but she was doing the dirty work all night.
03
hot take
Nobody scored 20. Ugly game, honestly. Sparks couldn't buy a bucket in the second half and that was the ballgame.
04
deep cut
Veronica Burton dropped 7 dimes and ran the whole show for Golden State. That's the real engine, not the scoring.
05
exit
Sparks are sitting at 12-19, kinda spinning their wheels. GS at 23-9 though, they're rolling into the playoff push. Should be fun to watch.
The recap
The Valkyries went into Crypto.com and grabbed a gritty 84-78 road win to keep rolling at 23-9. Cecilia Zandalasini led the way with 15 and 7 boards, and Veronica Burton ran the show with 7 dimes to keep the offense humming.
Nneka Ogwumike did her thing for the Sparks with 16 and 7, but nobody else in LA could buy a bucket and the supporting cast just wasn't there. Sparks take another L and slide to 12-19 as Golden State keeps stacking wins.
