Golden State ValkyriesvsConnecticut Sun
GS 89/CON 64
Things to say
Golden State beat Connecticut 89-64 on the road at Mohegan Sun.
01
opener
Valkyries went into Connecticut and just took it. 89-64, never really close. The Sun couldn't buy a bucket all night.
02
key player
Janelle Salaun led everybody with 15, but honestly Golden State just had buckets from everywhere. Balanced attack, nobody had to force it.
03
hot take
Connecticut's at 10-28 for a reason. That defense is cooked and this game proved it.
04
deep cut
Veronica Burton quietly ran the show with 7 dimes. She doesn't fill the box score but she controls the whole thing.
05
exit
Valkyries are 27-11 and rolling. Playoff seeding's gonna be fun to watch down the stretch.
The recap
Golden State went into Mohegan Sun and handled business, running the Sun off their own floor 89-64 in a game that was never really close. This was a balanced beatdown from the Valkyries, who didn't even need a monster night from anyone.
Janelle Salaun paced them with 15 while Veronica Burton ran the show with 7 dimes, and the whole roster just ate Connecticut up. The Sun couldn't buy a bucket, and at 10-28 they've got nothing but a long offseason to think about while the 27-11 Valkyries keep rolling toward the playoffs.
