Vancouver WhitecapsvsSan Diego FC
VAN 4/SD 2
Things to say
Vancouver Whitecaps beat San Diego FC 4-2 at Snapdragon Stadium.
01
opener
Caps went into San Diego and put up four. Snapdragon was rocking early and Vancouver just quieted the whole place.
02
key player
Brian White was a problem all night — five shots, looked like he was gonna find the net every time he touched it.
03
hot take
San Diego's an expansion side punching above their weight, but that back line is gonna get exposed every time they play a real contender.
04
deep cut
Dos Santos made seven saves and still shipped four. Imagine the scoreline if he'd had an off night.
05
exit
Vancouver's 10-2-2 now — they're the team to beat in the West, I'm calling it.
The recap
Vancouver rolled into Snapdragon and put four past San Diego, walking out 4-2 winners and looking every bit the team sitting on 10-2-2. Brian White was a handful up top with five shots, and the Whitecaps just had more bite in the final third all night.
San Diego keeper Carlos Dos Santos actually had a busy shift with seven saves, which tells you how much worse this could have been. Vancouver's keeper barely had to break a sweat on the other end, and the Whitecaps look like a real problem out West right now.
