Chicago White SoxvsMinnesota Twins
CHW 8/MIN 0
Things to say
White Sox shut out the Twins 8-0 at Target Field.
01
opener
White Sox went into Target Field and hung a crooked number on the Twins. Eight to nothing, never really felt close.
02
key player
Whoever Chicago ran out there bought himself a week of leash, that line had to be near a complete game with the way the pen got the day off.
03
hot take
Twins are 29-34 and the bats keep no-showing at home, that lineup needs a shakeup before the trade deadline turns into a fire sale.
04
deep cut
White Sox are 33-29 now, which is wild for a team nobody picked to sniff .500, and they did it on a getaway day with the ace not even pitching.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if Minnesota can salvage anything next series before this thing gets away from them.
The recap
White Sox rolled into Target Field and absolutely punched the Twins in the mouth, 8-zip on a getaway day. Chicago's bats were locked in early and they never let Minnesota breathe — when you put up a crooked number and your starter's got into his stuff, the other dugout just deflates.
Twins manager had to go to the pen too early and it snowballed from there, classic case of one inning unraveling the whole afternoon. At 33-29 the Sox are quietly stacking wins, while Minnesota drops to 29-34 and you can feel the pressure building in that clubhouse.
